Site Map Development

A site map is a list of pages on a web site used by search engine crawlers (or bots) to index content. A site map is also used by site visitors who can visually scan large lists of content in a fairly quick glance. Site maps are a supplement to the web site’s navigation system or content hyperlinks. The content list items are titled and directly linked to the listed web page. Search engines use site maps to access and index the listed pages. While generally developed for search engines, a well formatted site map presents visitors with an organized list of content.

Your site map can be submitted to Google where it is indexed to learn about your web site's structure, which enables them to improve their crawler schedule and do a better job crawling your site in the future. If you would like EMD to create you a site map there is an additional charge to create the site map and submit it to Google. There are tools available to to this on our own if you wish to manage your own site map account with Google.
