Front end web design focuses on the elements of a web site as it is presented in Web browser. Where as the back end focus is primarily on systems such as databases, content management, form processing, or script writing. Sometimes clients delegate the interface design to an outside firm to focus strictly on look and feel. Other clients desire a custom Joomla template that fits their business needs. In both cases clients can maintain the content and update without outside involvement.

Templates are designed for less experienced web users to manage and update the content of their web site without the need of hiring a web developer for text edits or document uploads. Rather, by using a professionally developed template, the novice web user can maintain much of the day-to-day content modifications. Common template designs are developed for Dreamweaver, Joomla, and straight HTML and CSS.
