Color Value Conversions RGB to HEX
This section explains how to convert HTML color values to its RGB equivalent. HTML color code values are hexidecimal numbers. The conversion of hexidecimal to RGB values is useful when you want to match an image color to a CSS web colors. For example let's analyze the color value 63C6DE.
To perform the conversion:
1. Use a scientific calculator or use the calculator on your computer and put it in HEX mode
2. Identify the HTML color value to be converted.
3. The HTML/CSS (or hexidecimal) value of 63C6DE will be used.
4. Breaking down each component of the color value 63C6DE gives us.
- rr Hex 63
- gg Hex c6
- bb Hex de.
5. Enter the first value (63) into the calculator.
6. Click DEC in the upper left of the calculator.
7. The hex value of 63 converts to 99.
8. The value 99 is the rr or red value used on RGB color images.
9. Click HEX before the next conversion.
10. Repeat steps 5-9 for the other two colors.
